I often see this flower in my yard and have always thought it
would be a great hat for a fairy.

So for today's sketch, I did so. And then decided I ought to paint it as well.

Contemplating Fireflies

Two bunnies contemplate the night sky full of stars and fireflies.

Originally I was going to make this a daytime scene without the bunnies, but after seeing the bunnies in my backyard I decided to incorporate them. I also wanted to play some with a night sky and just let the watercolors pool rather then smoothing the color out like I usually do.

I actually drew the original sketch back in 2006, but finally decided to do something more with it now. I am not sure about the barn owl though...it may or may not stay in the final.

I started this, stopped it, started it again and then stopped. Then I needed the paper that was under this one, so I took it off the board. I may or may not put it under the brush again, but I thought it was about time she get some air.

Bright Designs

These watercolors will eventually be cast into a bezel with resin for necklaces. I went through a paisley stage in grade school and decided to bring them back to go with the bright colors I was in the mood to paint with.

I had an friend visit about a month ago. She took some rather stellar shots of my studio and art supplies. I offered to tidy up a bit, but with the wisdom of an art teacher she said, it's more interesting this way.
